Booking a Charter

Chartering a yacht should feel exciting from the very first phone call, not like paperwork. Here's exactly how the process works with Praetor Yacht Group, from the moment you reach out to the moment you step off the boat at the end of your day.

1. Reaching Out

It starts with a conversation. Tell us your dates, your group size, and what you're hoping the day looks like — a relaxed cruise around the bay, a full day exploring the islands, sunset and dinner on the water, whatever it is. We'll help match you with the right vessel for your group and your plans.

This is also the time to let us know about any dietary restrictions or preferences. Listing these at the time of booking, rather than the morning of, gives our galley team time to plan properly — and we're glad to say plant-based options are always available.

2. Securing Your Date

Once you've chosen your vessel and date, a deposit of 50% of the total charter cost secures your booking. The remaining balance is due the day of your charter, before departure.

We accept cash, credit card, or bank transfer for both the deposit and final payment — whatever's easiest for you.

3. If Plans Change

We understand travel plans shift. If you need to cancel, you're entitled to a full refund as long as you cancel with at least three days remaining before your charter date. If something comes up, just let us know as soon as you can.

4. Getting to the Marina

Most hotels in the area offer their own transportation to and from the marina as part of their guest services — worth checking with your front desk. If your hotel doesn't offer this, don't worry: we can arrange transportation for you. Just let us know ahead of time so we can have it ready.

5. Aboard Your Charter

Once you're on board, the day is genuinely yours to shape. Soft drinks, beer, and cocktails are included with every charter — no need to think about a bar tab.

How the charter itself runs depends on the boat and what you're in the mood for:

• Programmed itineraries — a set route with recommended stops, ideal if you'd rather sit back and let us handle the planning.

• Directed on the fly — some vessels allow guests to call the shots in real time, adjusting the route and stops as the day unfolds.

You're also free to choose between a standard tour route or guide the day wherever you'd like to go, as long as it fits within your charter's timeframe. Minimum charter duration varies by vessel, so your captain or our booking team can walk you through what's realistic for the boat and the day you have in mind.

6. Returning to the Marina

At the end of your charter, the boat returns to the marina. From there, you can either have transportation arranged in advance, or simply order a rideshare directly from the marina — whichever suits your plans for the rest of the day or evening.

7. Promotions

We occasionally run promotions offering 10–15% off select charters. If timing is flexible on your end, it's worth asking what's currently available when you reach out.
